Symphytum grandiflorum is a strong, fast-growing perennial with large, rough green leaves and striking cream to pale yellow flowers that appear early in spring. This plant is ideal as ground cover for partially shaded to shaded borders, under shrubs and in naturalistic gardens, where it quickly forms dense growth and suppresses weeds. Symphytum grandiflorum thrives best in moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil, is low-maintenance, fully hardy and particularly valuable for early-season pollinators.
